Know about using the search feature to search stories, collections, breaking news, and notifications on the Editor.

Searching at the Planner Panel

To search stories using the Planner panel, perform the following steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to the Planner.
  2. Enter a string in Search. Result: A list of stories containing the search string in the body of the story is displayed.
  3. To find the exact story, click on the column head to navigate to the column.
  4. To open the story, click on the story name.
  5. Optionally, to reset search, erase the search string.

Note

Search does not operate on the columns New Idea or Not Started.

Use the horizontal scroll bar to move to the right of the Planner panel.

Searching at the Workspace Panel

You can use the Workspace to search for stories. You can use filters to narrow your search.

To search one or more stories using the Workspace panel, perform the following tasks:

1. Navigate to the Workspace panel by clicking on Workspace on the main menu.

2. Enter a string in Search.

  • Result A: A list of stories is displayed in each column. The column heading lists the count of stories that matches the search string, along with the column name.
  • Result B: If no stories are found, “No stories found! Clear All Filters?” message is displayed. You can click on Clear All Filters to clear Search.

3. To locate the desired story, click on the column head to navigate to the column.

4. To open the story, click on the story name.

Note

The search function displays those stories where the search string is present either in the story content, its metadata, story attribute, or any of the story fields.

Resetting or Clearing Search

To reset or clear search, perform the following tasks:

1. On Search, click on the cross. Result: Search is cleared and the complete list of stories is displayed against each column.

Using Filters for Searching

You can use filters to search stories and collection by content type, modification date, section, attribute and its value, and author. You can save a filter, share a filter, use a shared filter, and so on.

Perform the following steps to use advanced search:

1. In the Workspace panel, click on FILTERS on the left side of the panel. Result: The FILTERS pane attaches to the Workspace panel.

2. Under FILTER OPTIONS tab, complete one or more of the following options:

  • If you want to filter by content type, then select a combination of Story, Push Notifications, Breaking News, or Collection under Content Type.
  • If you want to filter by a date range, then select any one of the following: Today, This Week, This Month, or Customer Range..., under Updated Date. If you chose Custom Range, select the range in From: and To:.
  • If you want to filter by a section, then select a value from Sections.
  • If you want to filter by an attribute, then select a value from Attribute, and select a value from Value.
  • If you want to filter by author name, then click on Author drop-down and enter a name.

3. Click Apply

  • Result A: A list of stories is displayed in each column.
  • Result B: If no stories are found, “No stories found! Clear All Filters?” message is displayed.

If the result is A, then perform the following steps:

a) To locate the desired story, click on the column head to navigate to the column.

b) To open the story, click on the story name.

c) If you want to save your filter, then click Save. Enter a filter name and click Save.

d) To close filters, click on the blue band named FILTERS.

Working with Saved Filters

After saving a filter, perform one or more of the following tasks:

  • To update a saved filter, click Update.
  • To save an existing filter in another name, click Save As. Then enter a filter name and click Save.
  • To view saved filters, click on FILTER LIST tab. Result: A list of shared filters and saved filters are displayed.
  • To view and execute the saved filters, click on the filter name.
  • To set any one of the filters as default, click on the three dots on the right side of the FILTERS pane and select Set as default filter.
  • To share your saved filter, click on the three dots on the right side of the FILTERS pane and select Share.
  • To delete your saved filter, click on the three dots on the right side of the FILTERS pane and select Delete.
