Guest Author vs Contributors

Quintype currently supports displaying two author-related roles on the frontend:

1. Author
2. Guest Author (customizable label)

The Guest Author role can be used for various editorial attribution requirements such as:

  • Edited By
  • Reviewed By
  • Contributor
  • Guest Contributor

The label displayed on the frontend can be configured through Page Builder based on your editorial preference under Custom Labels.

Guest Author

When a user is added as a Guest Author, their details can be displayed on the frontend, provided the Guest Author display option is enabled in Page Builder.

Contributors

The Contributors field available in Bold serves as an editorial attribution field and is currently intended for backend/editorial workflows.

At present, contributor profiles added under the Contributors section are not rendered on the frontend. Therefore, contributor names added through this field will not appear on article pages.

Current Frontend Support

Currently, the platform supports displaying only:

* Author
* Guest Author (with a customizable label)

Displaying an additional, separate Contributor section alongside Author and Guest Author is not supported at this time.

Recommended Approach

If contributor names need to be visible on the frontend, we recommend adding them under the Author or Guest Author section, depending on the desired presentation.

This allows the contributor information to be displayed on the story page while maintaining the existing frontend author configuration.
