How Image Focus Points Work

The Image Focus Point feature allows you to highlight the most important area of an image after it has been uploaded. Since images are automatically resized and cropped across different devices, screen sizes, and placements (such as mobile, desktop, homepage widgets, and social media previews), the focus point helps ensure that the most relevant part of the image remains visible.

Setting a Focus Point

1. Within the story editor, below the uploaded image choose the available (+) option.

2. Click on the desired area of the image. A “+” (plus) marker will appear, indicating the selected focus point.

3. Save your changes.

Removing a Focus Point

To remove an existing focus point, click “-” icon below the image.

Why Use Focus Points?

Without a focus point, automatic cropping may cut off important subjects or details when the image is displayed in different layouts. By setting a focus point, you can ensure that key elements- such as people, objects, or text- remain centered and visible across all supported displays.

Using focus points helps maintain the intended visual composition and improves the appearance of images throughout your site and social media channels.
